Representing our beautiful ʻEwa moku on Oʻahu, this pattern features a unique Koʻoloaʻula flower design. The Koʻoloaʻula is an endangered Native Hawaiian pua.
In the late 90ʻs, there were two known populations of the koʻoloaʻula on Oʻahu. One of which was discovered in ʻEwa, during plans for a new major roadway. (The other population is in Lualualei). This road is now named Kualakaʻi Parkway - the very road that leads to Ka Makana Aliʻi, where No'eau Designers is located!
Thankfully, efforts to preserve the Koʻoloaʻula were successfully taken and it can now be found in a few locations across the island of Oʻahu.
Our Koʻoloaʻula collection pays homage & brings awareness to this special mea kanu.
