"This kapa was commissioned by a loving son for his mother. He fondly remembered spending evenings with her in the cool of her beautiful, scent-filled garden, helping her tend to her flowers. Something else he observed in her; Culturally she obsesses over the intersection of east and west, that crossroads idea, the idea of different journeys colliding, trade routes. She sees it in Hawaii, in wherever she travels to, in her family."
